Thompson is the President of New Paradigm Enterprises, Inc., and Medical Director of its subsidiary Desert Oasis Clinic, wherefor the past six years he has operated as a sole practitioner specializing in preventive medicine, alternative and complementary therapies, and non-surgical orthopedic/musculosketal medicine. Dr. Thompson integrates his full training in traditional medicine with an extensive background in alternative therapies for the growing number of clients who desire a more natural, holistic approach to healthcare. He is one of the few physicians in the U.S. who uses this integrative approach. Dr. Thompson is also the medical director of Desert Hyperbarics, the first free-standing (non-hospital affiliated) facility offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in Southern Nevada. HBOT is an FDA approved treatment which involves breathing 100% medical grade oxygen in conditions of increased atmospheric pressure in specially designed chambers. Dr. Thompson has successfully treated a wide range of conditions with HBOT, including cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and tissue damage from radiation treatments. Lyme disease and non-healing wounds. Dr. Thompson received his medical degree in osteopathic medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 1992. His medical training included internships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and the Cleveland clinic in Ohio. He completed an internship in general medicine at Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan, followed by a full residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of the Detroit Medical Center, which he completed in 1996. Since relocating to Nevada in 1997, Dr. Thompson practiced as a staff physician at Desert Shores Medical Options, Accelerated Pain & Rehabilitation Center, and Nevada Care Medical center before opening his own clinic in August, 2000. One year later, Dr. Thompson opened Desert Hyperbarics in August, 2001. In March 2008, Dr. Thompson in association with HydroHealth Las Vegas/Medicavelli Inc. opened the first free standing Medical Detoxification Facility. Dr.
